Batman Begins is a 2009 American superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer, Charles Roven, and Emma Thomas. The film stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. The movie is set nine years after the 1989 film Batman. The game is played from an isometric view, with the player's character facing forward. The background consists of a man-made cityscape, consisting of numerous buildings and small monuments, set against a backdrop of fog or heavy rain. As the game progresses, the player must investigate crime scenes by searching for clues. Interrogating police officers can be conducted at any time. To complete certain objectives you must travel across town to other areas in order to reach them. Batcave can be unlocked by finding all 30 codes that are hidden throughout the game. Once unlocked, the player can visit it at any time. The game features some unique gameplay elements which are different from previous games in the series. Each successful mission grants you "Source Points", which are used to upgrade Batman's abilities. These include increasing the length of time Batman can glide, increasing his strength or improving his interrogations. New moves are also learned for Batman's Utility Belt, such as the ability to hack into computers using a virtual reality simulator, or using it to grab enemies and throw them into others. As well as trading in "Source Points" for upgrades, players can also locate special items called "Gadgets", which provide permanent upgrades. Gadgets also allow the player to access certain areas that would otherwise be unavailable. New items are gained through shipments from Wayne Enterprises, and through completing tasks for Lucius Fox. The game features a large number of cut-scenes, with some voiceovers. The voiceovers can be skipped if the player does not have enough Source Points to purchase them at the time. A new feature unique to the game is "interrogation", where Batman interrogates those around him by having them answer a series of questions written on cards, as well as their own biography. Batman's enemies appear in several forms, each more dangerous than the last. Unlike Arkham Asylum, where the bosses appeared near the end of the game, The Joker appears early on, and is also present as a hidden boss later on in the game. Later bosses include Bane and Talia al Ghul, who is equipped with a sword and possesses moves that can take down Batman quickly. There are several special ""Boss Battles"" throughout the game. These involve fighting against henchmen who have been given 'super powers' as a result of The Joker's Drug - ""No Man's Land"". Each boss character has specific moves that allow them to attack Batman in various ways.
